Hi! I'm Verena Wood.
How did a girl from Berlin end up moving to Scotland and photographing weddings, families & brands across the UK?
Well, here's the story.
THE TIME BEFORE
I grew up near Berlin and left school with decent grades and big plans. During a gap year in New Zealand, I completely fell in love with photography (how could you not at this otherworldly place?!). Between the incredible landscapes and the amazing people I met, I realised that capturing moments was what truly excited me. Back in Germany, I briefly studied Aviation Management before accepting that I was far more interested in chasing beautiful light than flight schedules.
Before finding my place in Scotland, there were a few detours along the way. I completed an apprenticeship in Event Management in Berlin, where I learned how to organise just about anything. That was definitely a skill that came in handy later. In 2017, I finally took the leap and started my own photography business.
SCOTLAND
I'd fallen in love with Scotland during a solo trip in 2016, and three years later I made the move with a £9.99 flight to Edinburgh, 40 kg of luggage, and a camera that probably weighed more than anything else I owned. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. I spent my days photographing wonderful couples, enjoying quiet sunsets over the River Tay, exploring the Highlands whenever I could, and, somewhere in the middle of a global pandemic, meeting the man who would become my husband.
LONDON
We moved to London, welcomed our son Kaspar, and somehow balanced family life, and growing my business whilst being far away from our main support network. In 2024, Remember Tomorrow Photography had its best year yet, reminding me that trusting my instincts has never led me the wrong way.
After welcoming our daughter Leonor in 2025 and finishing my second maternity leave early 2026, we packed up our 2-bedroom flat in Richmond and made our way back up north. A welcomed and all to familiar change for us all!
NEWPORT-ON-TAY
The 2026 season was meant to be my business warm-up year, but oh boy, was I unprepared for what hit me once we settled into our new place. Meanwhile, I'm balancing sessions, emails, editing, Social Media and everything else whenever I can squeeze it in between changing nappies and maintaining a colourful social life. I am so immensely grateful that I manage to get it all under one hat!
Our return to Scotland came with a few unexpected twists, but after months of house hunting we finally found our dream home. (I still can't believe I'm writing this!)
Now I'm so excited for this next chapter of putting down roots in my favourite place, surrounded by my favourite people with my favourite job - photography.
Throughout the years, some of my clients became friends. Some would say that this isn't very professional but I think this is the loveliest part of my job. Making people feel so comfortable in front of the camera that they would like to be friends with me is only going to make my photos even better - win, win! Want to be my friend too? :)
