Maternity Photography
Happiness on the way
Maternity photography is where my journey with people began — capturing that fleeting in-between moment before everything changes. Nine years on, I’m still photographing baby bumps, now with more experience and a guiding instinct.
Becoming a mother in 2022 gave this specific work new meaning. I remember the exhaustion, the anticipation, and the quiet excitement before meeting our son. That’s exactly what I aim to capture: the mix of nerves and joy that comes with standing on the edge of parenthood — a moment worth remembering.
COCO & GUI
January & February 2019 & October 2021
Berlin, Germany
This shoot is a beautiful story about colleagues becoming friends. Coco and I worked together in Berlin at an event agency. When she asked me to come to her home to document her pregnancy I was more than humbled! The baby "Bud" was due soon and we had to find a day in January to take the photo. There aren't many daylight hours in January so we had to get creative with some artificial light. The results are warm, cosy and atmospheric. Not knowing what they were expecting, Coco and Gui asked friends and families to leave gender and birthday guesses in a calendar. I was very close with my guess and was even invited for the newborn photo shoot and another family photo shoot with an additional family member in 2021!
FAMILY VINK
November 2018
Raglan, New Zealand
During my travels in New Zealand I approached Melzi in a café and asked her if she would like to do a photo shoot. Only hours later, I was standing in her living room taking photos of her and her gorgeous family. This is a relatively old photo shoot but remains one of my favourites simply because of the story and the trust they all gave me. My shooting style and editing has grown a lot since then but it's always great to see how far I have come in developing my skills and this is why this photo shoot deserves a spot on my website.
MELINA & NILS
August 2019
Berlin, Germany
In 2018, Melina and Nils were excitedly expecting their first child. Melina was wearing a bright red dress that made her stick out of her surroundings - an absolute winner in all our outdoor photos. Back then, they lived next to a construction site but we managed to find a little green oasis which turned out to be perfect for our photo shoot. I was delighted to be one of the first people to hear about the arrival of their sweet daughter. I then met her weeks later for her very own photo shoot.
JULIA & MARVIN
July 2018 & August 2019
Berlin, Germany
Julia asked me to take some maternity photos of her and her little family whilst waiting for baby number two to arrive. I remember my heart beating so loudly during the shoot, it's not every day that you have a professional photographer in front of your lens! Luckily Julia was super relaxed and even gave me some tips - a win-win for me! The photos turned out to be exactly what Julia had imagined and I was overjoyed to receive great feedback from her. I was invited for family photos again after that first "interview".
