NEWBORNS AND BABIES PHOTOGRAPHY
When you are caught up in your newborn bubble, the days fly by. Those first few days after giving birth are widely described as a rollercoaster ride, and rightly so. Mum and Dad are trying to meet all the needs of their new family and doing things that (in many cases) they haven't done before, like feeding, changing nappies, or pulling clothes onto a tiny little body. As a result of all of these changes, I recommend that you consider a photoshoot after your first week at home. This gives everyone a chance to get to know each other, recover, and work out how to pop the buttons together on vests in the middle of the night!
When I am shooting newborns and babies, my visits are quick and efficient. This doesn't mean that there won't be time for nappy changes and cuddles (these are always encouraged!) or that I will be looking at my watch, it is just that my experience of these shoots is that the shorter they are, the better!

CLEO
April 2022
Kew, London, England
This little London lady missed her whole photo shoot! She was fast asleep in Mum and Dad's arms, in the bassinet, and in the carrier - just so tired from all that growing. As newborns sleep for up to 17 hours a day it was more than appropriate to get those sleepy shots. Teddy and Tim invited me into their lovely well-lit home that reminded me of heavenly studio conditions. I was 8 months pregnant whilst taking these photos and getting up and down from the floor was the hardest part of this photo shoot!
SOPHIE
July 2023
Pittenweem, The Kingdom of Fife, Scotland
Proud big brother alert! This young lady was not only adored by mum and dad but also by her older brother who wouldn't leave her side throughout the whole photo shoot. Harry, the big brother, already made an appearance in front of my camera during a nursery photoshoot. Cheryl and Kenny loved the photos of Harry so much that they made sure to get in touch with me once little Sophie arrived. What a way to say "We love what you do!".
LASSE
March 2019
Berlin, Germany
To continue the photo series of sleeping babies, Lasse is a perfect example. Sleepy and cuddled up in all sorts of positions, he was the ideal newborn model. Mum and Dad were bursting with pride and reflected that in every single photo. As an early spring baby, we included some early bloomers to mark the season in the photos.
This galley is also a perfect example of why colour-coordinated, simple outfits can make an entire photo shoot. When clothes are really bright or busy, they can sometimes distract from beautiful, happy smiles and we definitely don't want that!.
PATRICK
July 2021
Newport-on-Tay, The Kingdom of Fife, Scotland
Zahra and Gus invited me into their home shortly after their precious baby boy Patrick was born. I count myself lucky every time this happens as it is a privilege to be one of the first people to meet a new human. Patrick was so small and fragile during the shoot but despite this, I was allowed a really close look at him. I couldn't stop taking photos and tried to capture every angle, every inch of his face. I believe you can never have enough newborn photos, thankfully Zahra and Gus agreed!
